It’s no secret that maintaining the windows, doors, and curtain walling on your building will increase their longevity, but we can offer some advice on the best approach to keep your glazing looking great for as long as possible.

For the glass, the best way to wash and keep your windows sparkling clean is to use a simple combination of clean water and a small amount of soap.

Make sure to remove any jewellery before cleaning to avoid scratching the glass and be extra careful when cleaning older windows or those with leaded accents.

The frames of your windows and curtain walling can be cleaned in the exact same way, but keep in mind to always rinse with clean water and a cloth at the end to stop the appearance of any streaks and remove any residue.

Throughout the past year, many of us have become accustomed to keeping our homes well ventilated to help fight the spread of Covid, and this can also help slow down the development of condensation within your glazing.

There are no set rules for how often to clean the windows, doors, and curtain walling of your property, but cleaning the glazing and frames with a small amount of soap every few months and continuing to wipe the glazing down with just water and a cloth as and when needed will be more than enough to keep your glazing looking its best.

Of course, if you notice any issues on the glazing of your building that require further attention than a simple clean, please don’t hesitate to contact our maintenance team via email (maintenance@baasl.co.uk) or phone (01782 5663512).
